Wowww! You can also start your day with some sparkling... Here we have an office full of heart shape balloons. When I came to work this morning I got a glass of sparkling, some coconut candies, strawberries and a rose with congratulations. So it's like all clichés together before the midday but why not? I must say it's pretty cool, this could only happen in Russia! I so love this country! Raffaello coconut candies are my new favorite =) Why don't we have them in Finland??? I really must find the swimming pool or you will not recognise me soon... ;-) During the afternoon we had some more flowers and sparkling wine at Tango. By the way, here you always need to have odd number (1, 3, 5, 7...) of flowers, otherwise it means bad luck, funerals or just something bad. Our male colleagues surprised us with special, hand painted mugs: everybody got one with the first letter of their name painted on it (in cyrillic), black and white like Tango style of course. They very very nice, spasibo =) The actual women's day is on Saturday, so we will have a holiday on monday, logical, is't it? Great! Valentine's day is not a big thing here, so this makes up for that too... However, women's rights haven't really been that much like an issue here. Instead there was some news about a Russian bank who was asking some female employees to perform in a girl calendar: http://mmr.net.ua/news/newsid/9169/index.html. To me it's little bit difficult to understand why a female economist would like to do it just from a free will, without any extra money... maybe I have just missed some important points about this culture. I have to continue my research :-)
